The Childrenswear Market – A Brief Overview

As long as there are people who keep having children and the need to dress them as they grow, the market for kids apparel will always be relevant. There are several key issues people need to be aware of before entering the kids apparel market:

- Fit Issues: Children are bigger/taller than they were 30 years ago so fit is very important

- CPSIA: New testing and labeling mandates are in place in the U.S.

- Organic Materials: More parents are looking for environmentally friendly clothes for their kids

- Design Aesthetics: Age appropriate design for kids

- Target Market: Grandma does a lot of shopping, too

- Competition: Be aware and familiar of your competitors

- Pricing: Understanding between quality and quantity when pricing your garments
